Metro UI for Windows 7

If you are longing for a Metro UI for Windows 7, WinMetro is a free option to do so as it is specially designed to bring the newly introduced Windows 8 Metro UI to Windows 7 along with older version such as Windows Vista and Windows XP.

WinMetro also offers an easy solution for old Windows version users to try and enjoy the tile-based Metro UI by displaying useful information such as weather, calendar, news, stocks, and frequently used programs by turning your desktop into an informative and productive work station.

An added benefit of WinMetro is that it will boot to Metro Start Screen directly when the option is requested by the user.

If you have one of my Hackintosh build and can wait, Microsoft is supposed to be giving away their successor to Windows 8.1 (aka Windows 10) so do a true upgrade instead of a UI change. Be warned that some of your current software (McAfee VirusScan Enterprise) will be incompatible until fixed while others (Cisco VPN) will have to be replaced.

Tip: Substitute McAfee Endpoint for McAfee VirusScan Enterprise and Cisco AnyConnect for Cisco VPN on Windows 10.
