A Microsoft Account is an account that you either love or hate and here’s why.
Electronic Mail
Having an account gives you access to send and receive electronic mail but if you plan to use it to receive automated email alerts, the server that is generating the alerts may get their IP Address banned and you will have to fill out a lengthy form to get it unblocked. It may not seem like a big deal at first until you realize that other Microsoft Account holders will not get an electronic mail from you as well so if it is shared hosting, clients that are sharing the same IP address or subnet on the server will incur the issue.
Software
Quite a few software and apps require a Microsoft Account. One that I see it asked for frequently is Microsoft Whiteboard. You will need to log into your account first to gain access to download the software. Also, an account is also required to install programs on Windows 10 Home in S mode.
