One day when you least expect it, you or an end-user that you support will discover no Internet connection on Internet Explorer. This may not appear to be a major issue since there are numerous free Internet browsers available to utilize especially since Internet Explorer is getting old but if the alternate browsers are not yet installed or at least downloaded, how will you get a chance to utilize them?
Most times, the installers for the browsers are trimmed down and must have an active Internet connection to gain all the files to have a functional installation. Due to this, you will always get the latest versions released and support for the OS the web installer is active on.
Clock
One of the things to check right away is the current time on the clock. If the time is not correct, it can have sites that utilizes SSL Certificates from loading thus appearing that there is a serious network connection when in fact it is not.
Private Browsing
When the time change has no effect or was already correct, the next thing to do is to try and access websites using private browsing feature to rule out issues with cookies. If you determine that cookies are the issue, see clearing cache and cookie
Reset the Browser
When all else fails, just reset the browser and move on. This way, you can reach out to other users who are experiencing issues or get tasks done if the system was your own.
