Did you know that is it possible to have an Epson Perfection 1640SU on Windows 7? I discovered this while moving a user to a Dell Optiplex 990 running Windows 7 from an older Optiplex GX280 running Windows XP.
Windows 7 32-Bit Drivers
These drivers (see link below) are available from Epson and can be quickly downloaded and installed for free from www.epson.com within 10 minutes.
Windows 7 64-Bit Drivers
These drivers are unfortunately not available from Epson but they can be quickly downloaded and installed for free from www.hamrick.com. This was installed yesterday and so far, there has not been an issue with the driver.
Are you having installation problems? Contact me and I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction.
Windows 8 Drivers
Will any of these drivers work with Windows 8? Well, that OS is not on the list of software that I need to provide support as of yet but from what I have seen in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, all one needs to do is tell the OS to use the “Disable the mandatory use of signed drivers” option.
